Oreo Truffle Cupcakes

French Vanilla cupcakes filled with Oreo Truffles and topped with Vanilla Buttercream and Oreo Icing

My boyfriend, Nick, and I were out mini golfing and I decided we should bake when we got home. So on our way home, I got on Pinterest in Kroger’s parking lot, picked out these phenomenal cupcakes, and then bought the delicious ingredients. These Oreo Truffle Cupcakes are one of my favorite cupcakes to eat now!

Ingredients:

Truffle Ingredients:

  • 1 block of cream cheese
  • 1 bag of Oreos (reserve 5 Oreos or 1/2 cup of Oreos for icing)

Cupcake Ingredients:

  • French Vanilla Cake Mix (I got Betty Crockers Super Moist French Vanilla)

Icing Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter (or if your like me and only have one unsalted stick, you use one salted and one unsalted)
  • 6-8 cups of confectioners’ sugar (I used a little over 6)
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

How to Make:

Truffles and Cake Instructions:

  1. Use a blender and empty 2/3 of the Oreos into the blender. Blend. Then empty into separate bowl to make room for the other 1/3 to blend
  2. Then add the cream cheese into the blender with the blended Oreo and mix it up
  3. Empty blender and take a small ice cream scoop to make the truffle , then roll them into balls to shape them
  4. Place truffle balls into freezer for 20 minutes
  5. Make French Vanilla cake mix according to box directions
  6. Before placing cupcakes into the oven, place a truffle ball into each cupcake and push it down
  7. Then bake the cupcakes for about 11 min. or for however long the box says

Icing Instructions:

  1. Combine 4 cups of confectioners’ sugar, milk, butter, and vanilla
  2. Beat on medium speed for 3-5 minutes until creamy
  3. Then add the other two cups of sugar slowly until icing is completely mixed
  4. (I added all the ingredients and mixed in one step, but if I would have followed the directions, I think I would of had fluffier icing)

Put it all together:

Let your cupcakes cool before icing them. Then add the Oreo buttercream icing and top it off with Mini Oreos for decoration. Then you have yourself some Oreo Truffle Cupcakes…and let me tell ya, they are DELICIOUS!
